Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga was started in 1995 by family physician Dr. Madan Kataria, from India, and his wife Madhuri, a longtime yoga teacher. Dr. Kataria began a laughter yoga club for his patients when he realized certain chemicals released in the brain reduce stress and promote healing in the body. A student of his, Sebastian Gendry, from California, was so impressed with the benefits of Laughter Yoga that he brought it to the USA in 2004. Gendry is now the Operations Director for the American School of Laughter Yoga based in Los Angeles, CA. There are now over 5000 Laughter Yoga Clubs in the International Laughter Yoga Club movement in over 55 countries all over the world. Now, the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of the East Coast offers even more serenity by adding one more to the many Laughter Yoga Clubs of America.

Laughter Yoga for BusinessWhat is Laughter Yoga?
A new exercise of simulated laughter combined with gentle breathing techniques. Laughter Yoga is a revolutionary body-mind therapy that teaches the body to laugh without depending on jokes or humor. It is non-political, non-religious, non-competitive. There are no fancy stretches, no need for any particular items of clothing or equipment. It is a body-mind approach to wellness that aims to promote peace in the workplace, at home and in the world through laughter.
